Conscious Aging - Becoming a LifePro©

Well this might come as a surprise for you but in fact that is exactly how Nature intended for us to experience our life span. First we learn to use our bodies, then we learn to use our minds – all just preparation, learning to use the machinery we’re made of – and finally we learn to use our Self – the operator. Before you start arguing with me let me give you some very simple, logical, historical, and scientific proofs to chew on.

If I asked you what is more powerful physical power or mental power what would you say? 100 body builders against a sub-machine gun? A 100,000 people against an atomic bomb? The loudest shouter against the telephone? Eagle eyes against video transmissions? The strongest man in the world against a crane? The fastest man against a race car? No matter where we look it is clear that we can accomplish with physical power is no match to what we can accomplish using our mental power.

Id there another power besides that of the body or mind? What about the power of the Self?

This is what the organizers of a major conference in Chicago - The Society for Spirituality and Aging - wanted for me talk about. It is also why the Connecticut  Dept. of Aging asked me to be their Key Note Speaker at their Annual Conference. Because there is another power. And it is so powerful that human beings have placed the people who have use this power at the top of their list of people to learn about and admire.

Yes, we remember physical power - besides Samson, people who used physical force like Attila the Hun, Genghis Khan, Alexander the Great, Caesar, Hitler, and so forth. We study about them but don't admire them. Then there are people Guttenberg, Galileo, Kant, Edison, Bell, Jonas Salk, Feud, Einstein, who used their minds to bring ideas to life and make life better for human beings. We study about them and hold them in much higher regard than those who wielded physical power. But on top of the list there are other people, much fewer that the inventors, who are held in even higher regard.

Can you guess who they are?! We study about them and hold them in highest regard.

They are Moses, Jesus, Mohamed, Buddha, Mother Teresa, and others who led us to be kinder and more loving toward each other. "Love your neighbor as yourself." And as important is air, food, and water are to our physical survival, love is even more important to the emotional and mental health of human beings. That is what we give infant unconditionally - because human beings instinctively know what an infant, a toddler, a child need. Without love we just exist; unhappily pursuing, money, things, admiration and fame. Although parents eventually become conditional with their children, especially teenagers who don't behave, grandparents provide that unconditional love to their grandchildren. Instinctively, they know that is what their grandchildren need.

The fact with air, food, and water is that we need them unconditionally for the rest of our lives, And that is exactly how it is with love, We need it unconditionally for the rest of our lives - but don't have way to get it, from ourselves or others.

We don't realize that the role of our LifePros, people over 50,  is to provide love and wisdom to those still growing physically and laboring mentally. The most important nourishment, and one we can all generate and provide freely to others. That is the purpose of growing older. Retiring from work and  taking on the responsibility of providing unconditional love for the rest of the world.
